About

Bill Pringle

Rector's Warden

Bill has been actively involved in church life wherever he has lived. Bill moved to our church life here at St. George’s of the Pines in the winter of 2021 and was appointed as Incumbent Warden in the spring of 2023. Bill and his wife Mary have lived in many locations all over Canada as his employment as a RCMP member kept him on his toes moving him and his family every 4 years. He is now retired from the RCMP and lives in Golden BC where he has started up a photography business. Bill and Mary have two children and 8 grandchildren all of whom live in the Edmonton area of Alberta.

Bill is looking forward to getting to know all of you well and hopes that everyone will feel welcome to approach him to talk about any subject. He is also excited about being the Incumbent Warden and looks forward to seeing where God will be leading him with these responsibilities.

Jane Russell

Deputy Rector's Warden

Jane grew up in the Anglican Church first attending in the UK and then in Canada after her family moved.  When Jane was in highschool her mum Cory, pursued her Master's in Divinity from Vancouver School of Theology and was ordained an Anglican Minister.  On breaks from university Jane would accompany her mum on pastoral care visits, playing hymns and Bach on her viola.  Now a mum herself, Jane wishes to provide the opportunity of a relationship with God for her little ones.

Rick

People's Warden

Rick was born into the Anglican Church of Canada in the eastern part of the country and has remained an active member of the Church throughout his life. He has recently completed a two-year term on the Parish Council of another parish, a role he believes has prepared him well for future opportunities. Rick has had a 40-year career in the transportation and financial services sectors, working in both Canada and the United States. His hobbies include snowshoeing, reading, and traveling.

Rick has chosen to volunteer for this position because he is deeply inspired by the messages delivered by Rev. Seth every Sunday and appreciates the leadership qualities Rev. Seth has demonstrated early in his ministry. Rick is particularly enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Parish of St. George's in the Pines. He hopes to apply the skills and experience he has acquired in the corporate world to benefit the parish.

Charlynn Odegard

Parish Council

Charlynn has called Banff home for three years, but her roots are firmly planted in the Edmonton area, where she spent most of her life raising a family, working as a teacher, and cherishing the rich connections within her community. Currently, she crafts and sells gelato locally and shares her expertise by teaching ESL classes with Bow Valley Learning. Her passions extend to various outdoor pursuits, nurturing gardens, practicing yoga, enjoying coffee, and engaging in meaningful conversations.

The fabric of church and congregational life is woven into Charlynn's core values. She holds a deep reverence for lifelong learning, treasures the art of meeting new people, and finds guidance in listening to the whispers of God. Being a part of St. George's ministry in Banff brings her immense joy—it's a true gem nestled within the community that she feels fortunate to be a part of.
