In this week’s Gospel we read that Jesus went to the districts of Tyre and Sidon. To us, they are merely names of obscure places in the Bible; but in Scripture, location is important. 

This is the only occasion in his ministry when Jesus was ever outside of Palestine and outside of Jewish territory. If you look up Tyre and Sidon on a map of the world at the time of Jesus, you will discover that they are beautiful locations on the Mediterranean Sea. ...

Jesus is resurrected at Easter and he's gifted us his Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Now what?

Often the fear that drowns us is the concern over being accepted by a world that rejects Jesus. In 'Peace in the Midst of the Storm'  Rev. Seth reminds us that no matter what storm we face, Jesus is there with us to rescue us when we feel we're sinking. We are not called to fear but to rest our hearts and souls in Jesus, the one who can calm any storm.

The Bible is God's written word, given to us by the Holy Spirit as a revelation of God's acts in history and our final authority in matters of faith and practice. 

So we're making time this summer to meet weekly to read the bible, explore and share on our weekly passage, and to grow in faith and friendship.
