Beware of requests from fake clergy emails

St. George in the Pines Anglican Church

Scam Alert

A wave of scam emails using clergy identities have been sent again and you have likely received such emails recently from Rev. Howard asking for amazon gift cards to help him in his difficult situation.

Just a reminder that Rev. Howard or Rev. Seth will NEVER send emails asking for

 - gift cards

 - gift card codes sent via photograph

 - your credit card numbers.

These fraudulent emails often ask the recipient to not call the clergy, since calling us would reveal that the emails are scams.

If you receive an email from any clergy making a direct appeal for gift cards or any money, best practice is to confirm the details with the clergy by phone prior to sending any gift cards or money. If you do receive these fake emails, report them and block sender.
