When you think about yourself, what things come to mind? Take the first three words you think of - and then read today’s passage.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14

God created the earth and everything in it. This includes you. When God created you, he knit you together. Knit means to form or create. When we set out to form or create something, we think about it first. We decide how it will be and what the end goal is. We spend time thinking of the details of our creation, and then we begin to form it.

This is how God created you. God decided who you were, even before you were born. As you were being formed and created inside your mothers womb, God knew you. He was creating you exactly as he desired.

You are a work of art. You are wonderful, and God knit you together, specially and intentionally. Do you believe that? Recall the three words that came to mind earlier. Do they represent God’s wonderful work?

Talk with God. Ask God to show you his thoughts. Ask God to remove the negative ones to focus on the work he created in you. Ask God to help you live the life he dreamed for you when he was knitting you together.
